Veronica Dunne was making her last appearances with the society in the winter season ’65, in her favourite role of Mimi in “La Boheme” and as Elvira in “Don Giovanni”. She remembers this “Boheme” with affection as the Rodolfo was Charles Craig, one of the best Rodolfos of the day. ‘Charles was fabulous and he did have a very impressive tenor voice, though I used to hate him for the way he used to get up to that top note and hold it in the love duet at the end of act one. I think he did it on purpose!’
