Signorina Bardini sang Santuzza in “Cavalleria Rusticana”, which was staged with “Ave Maria” and scored as a personal triumph, with Umberto Borso giving an incisive performance as Turridu, displaying a voice of range and power to meet all the demands of the part. The chorus was stated to be in particularly fine form in the great Easter Hymn.
